This one is for any occasion as well…
 
Buy a nice gift and keep it in the special person’s wardrobe at night.
Then fill the wardrobe with blown up balloons!. When he/she will open it, the balloons will scamper all around the special person. The gift in the wardrobe would add to the surprise element.
 
Don’t have access to the wardrobe…? Then fill the bathtub with balloons and bury a gift under them.
 
No bathtub…? Use the shower area…put gift…fill with balloons…draw the shower curtains!

This surprise is for any occasion!

You can rent out an advertising hoarding for a day..and have his/her/their photo and a greeting for the special day put up there.

Don't forget to go with the special person(s) for a drive past that hoarding .

Sing and record the 'Happy Birthday to you song' and email it to the special person!

 This is for absolutely any occasion at all…

Get 20 friends of yours to sms the special person for his/her special occasion, at different times of the day.
Let all these 20 be people whom the special person doesn’t know!!

Extend the surprise…arrange for each person messaging the special person to send the message to you as well…and each time you get a message, give a little gift (flowers…chocolates…pastries…or anything else of your choice) to the special person.

Of course…can be done with fewer or more than 20 people as well..

Instead of the normal funda of cake cutting and calling friends over at 12 in the night the day the birthday/anniversary...

Have a surprise get together at 11:45 p.m. on the day of the special occasion... 15 mins before the end of the birthday!

This one can be for a birthday or anniversary...or for that matter any occasion!!

Take the special person out for lunch or dinner. Pre-arrange with the restaurant manager for 3-4 gifts to be delivered to the special person (one gift every 20 mins or so) by different staff members of the restaurant - chef, stewards, the manager himself, valet parking guy, etc.
